Henry Aldridge and Son are one of Wiltshire's premier auctioneers of antiques and collectors items.  A family run business operated by father and son team Alan and Andrew Aldridge. They were described recently by the top collector of Ocean Liner Memorabilia world-wide as the  “Leading source of high end ocean liner collectibles in the world”  and are universally accepted as the premier auctioneers in the sale of Titanic and White Star Line Material.

 

Both Alan and Andrew pride themselves on Henry Aldridge and Son combining a friendly and relaxed atmosphere at their auctions together with a 21st century attitude towards their clients and business. Henry Aldridge and Son hold a number of world records for sale of items at auction.

 

Alan Aldridge is Principal Auctioneer and Valuer and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the company.  He has been involved in the antiques business for over 30 years and following his father and grandfather Henry into the trade.  Alan's personal areas of interest are Roman History, Numismatics, 19th Century English Paintings and English Furniture and Porcelain 1780-1930.

 

Andrew Aldridge carries on the family tradition of working in antiques.  Andrew has an honours degree in fine arts valuation and is a full member of the Elite Fine Arts Division of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, having been one of the youngest members ever to gain full membership at the age of 26. His specialist area of expertise is the valuation of Titanic and White Star Line Memorabilia, where he is thought of as one of the leading authorities in the World. Other interests include militaria more specifically British Campaign and Gallantry awards 1885-1945 and the history of Imperial Rome.

 

Henry Aldridge and Son hold dedicated Antiques and Collectors Auctions on the second Saturday of each month as well as two specialist Titanic and Ocean Liner sales in April and September. These Collectors and Antique sales have yielded some splendid lots in so far in the last twelve months. They have included an album of photographs from Ernest Shackleton's last voyage which sold for £6000, a group of Wiltshire postcards that sold for £11000, a diamond ring which realised £8000 and a pair of William Bromley Oil paintings which sold for £7000. Henry Aldridge and Son also hold the individual world record for a Titanic item sold at auction at £101000 and the corresponding world record for the sale of an archive of Titanic material at £160000.
