Aldridge is Principal Auctioneer and Valuer and brings a wealth of
experience and knowledge to the company. He has been involved in the
antiques business for over 30 years and following his father and
grandfather Henry into the trade. Alan's personal areas of interest are
Roman History, Numismatics, 19th Century English Paintings and English
Furniture and Porcelain 1780-1930.
Aldridge is a consultant to the firm and carries on the family tradition
of working in antiques. He has an honours degree in fine arts valuation
and is a full member of the Elite Fine Arts Division of the Royal
Institute of Chartered Surveyors, having been one of the youngest
members ever to gain full membership at the age of 26. His specialist
area of expertise is the valuation of Titanic and White Star Line
Memorabilia, where he is thought of as one of the leading authorities in
the World. His expertise has been sought by major museums,
authors, documentary makers and the BBC's Antiques Roadshow during his
career. Other interests include transport collectables, militaria and British

month as well as two specialist Titanic and Ocean Liner sales in April
and October. These Collectors and Antique sales have yielded some
splendid lots in so far in the last twelve months. They have included a
Sir Alex Ferguson's first Manchester United Team sheet which made
£19,500, a collection of Tibetan photos £12,000 and two Tibetan deities
which sold for £122,000.
