It is signed in bold orange ink by Peter Sellers. Next to his signature Peter has drawn a doodle, caricature of his eyes, winking and large nose. Also with a circular stamp, received 12 July 1973 Mercedes (Great Britain) Transport Office. Framed and glazed.
209.    Peter Sellers was cast as the bumbling Chief Inspector Clouseau in the Pink Panther movies. This character gave Sellers a worldwide audience, beginning with "The Pink Panther". Peter Sellers, the actor portraying Clouseau, remarked that in his opinion, Clouseau knew he was a buffoon; but Clouseau has an incredible knack for survival. Sheer luck or clumsiness usually saves him. Jacques Clouseau is a bumbling simpleton of a policeman but he is also a brilliant detective. He inexplicably speaks in English with a ludicrous French accent, while other characters speak English, often with their own accents.

Show Business memorabilia: Peter Sellers handwritten letter to his lady friend Joyce in Rhodesia. This handwritten letter in black ink over two sheets of Peter Sellers personalised stationery which comes with the original mailing envelope which is also handwritten in black ink by Sellers. In the letter dated 18th July 1972 Sellers writes to an old lady friend "Dear Joyce, How very good to hear from you after all these years, and thank you so very much for your kind invitation to visit you when & if I am in Rhodesia parts. What a lovely location for a future film. I must try to arrange it. Thank you Joyce. I hope you are enjoying plenty of health and contentment, sincerely Peter". It is presented with images of Peter in his Pink Panther role as fumble-footed, bumbling and incompetent police French Chief Inspector Jacques Clouseau. Framed and glazed, 33.1/2ins x 17ins.
It is extremely rare to obtain a letter totally hand written & signed by Peter Sellers.
210.    Peter Sellers memorabilia: Highly important private and confidential marital settlement agreement, June 1979. Friends and family always insisted Peter Sellers had begun legal moves to cut Frederick out of his will, but died before the relevant documents were signed. It was all rumours and speculation until now.
This incredible official 15 page legal document goes into great in-depth detail page after page of how Peter was in fact proceeding with his separation with Lynne Frederick which would eventually lead to divorce but before Peter could finalise everything he died. On 22nd of July Sellers collapsed from a massive heart attack in his Dorchester Hotel room and fell into a coma. He died in a London hospital just after midnight on 24th July 1980, aged 54. He was survived by his fourth wife, Lynne Frederick, and three children: Michael, Sarah and Victoria. At the time of his death, he was scheduled to undergo heart surgery in Los Angeles within the month.
The consequences of not following through with the divorce meant that Lynne Frederick inherited almost his entire estate worth an estimated £4.5 million while his children received £800 each. When Frederick died in 1994 (aged 39), her mother Iris inherited everything, including all of the income and royalties from Sellers' work. When Iris dies the whole estate will go to Cassie, the daughter Lynne had with her third husband, Barry Unger. Sellers's only son, Michael, died of a heart attack at 52 during surgery on 24th July 2006 (26 years to the day after his father's death). Michael was survived by his second wife Alison, whom he married in 1986, and their two children.
This is the 15 page marital settlement agreement dated June 15, 1979 for Peter Seller's marriage to his last wife Lynne Frederick. It is an official court legal document. It covers such subjects as:
Section 1 Dissolution of marriage.
Section 2 Spousal support.
Section 3 Separate, community, quasi-community and joint tenancy property.
Section 4 Debts.
Section 5 Rights upon execution of agreement.
Section 6 Attorneys' fees.
Section 7 Further instruments and other acts.
Section 8 Agreement binding on successors.
Section 9 Release, waiver and finality.
Section 10 Each party fully advised.
Section 11 Mutual preparation.
Section 12 Section headings.
Section 13 Notices.
Section 14 Entire agreement.
Section 15 Waivers.
Section 16 Effective from June 15th 1979.
Section 17 Execution of counterparts.
211.    Peter Sellers Showbusiness Interest: Golden Globe Award for the Best Motion Picture Actor in a Comedy or Musical to Peter Sellers in "Being There" 1979. The award was issued by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association on January 26th 1980 in a ceremony in Los Angeles and was the only Golden Globe Sellers ever won. Peter Sellers also received an Oscar Nomination for this movie which was a comedy directed by Hal Ashby and starred Sellers and Shirley Maclaine. Sellers died several months later on July 24th 1980. 8.1/2" h, with gilt plaque showing award details.
212.    Peter Sellers memorabilia: Dated 22nd July 1980. One of if not the very last signature/document ever to be signed by Peter Sellers, signed at the Dorchester Hotel on the day of his fatal heart attack on the 22nd July 1980 which he never recovered from and went into a coma for more than 30 hours and died at 12:26am on 24th July.
Historical, peter Sellers Trust Document, July 22nd 1980. Nine page Trust Agreement for his daughter, Victoria. The agreement is between Peter Sellers, "Grantor", and Elwood Rickles & Michael Wolf, Trustees for 20,000 pounds sterling. It reads in part"....The Trustees shall hold, manage, invest. reinvest the trust property for the benefit of Victoria Sellers, daughter of the Grantor, born January 20th, 1965 upon the following terms:"
The document goes into great detail and lists several provisions about the disposition of the funds, a spendthrift provision, the trustees powers and various other terms and conditions. "...When Victoria Sellers attains the age of 21 years, this trust shall terminate, and the entire trust estate consisting of the principal but not the income of the trust, shall be paid and distributed to her, free and discharged of all trusts".
The final page bears the signatures of Peter Sellers, Elwood Rickles and Michael Wolf as well as three witnesses signature (six signatures in total). Peter Sellers' signature is large and in dark blue ink. The document is on legal size paper.
This document/trust agreement is exceptional on two fronts, one that it was the very last item ever to be signed by Peter and two because his daughter Victoria was left just £800 in Peters will and if this trust fund had been known about then she would of be left a very large amount on her 21st. birthday. Victoria's life took a downward spiral after Peters death.
A reunion dinner was scheduled in London with his Goon Show partners, Spike Milligan and Harry Secombe, for late July 1980. But on 22nd July, Sellers collapsed from a massive heart attack in his Dorchester Hotel room and fell into a coma. He died in a London hospital just after midnight on the 24th July 1980, aged 54. He was survived by his fourth wife, Lynne Frederick, and three children: Michael, Sarah and Victoria. At the time of his death, he was scheduled to undergo heart surgery in Los Angeles within the month.
213.    Peter Sellers memorabilia: Peter Sellers last full Employment Agreement. This is a 27 page Employment Agreement dated January 1, 1079. This contract details the terms and conditions of Sellers employment and Artista Management. During the time that this contract was in effect, Sellers made his last three movies: "Being There", "The Prisoner of Zenda" and "The Fiendish Plot of Dr. Fu Manchu". Sadly Sellers died a month before Dr. Fu Manchu was released. On the last page of this document, Sellers has signed above his typed name. His signature is very large. There are two other signatures signed by Artista Management.
